Dear Praying Friends
Dear Praying Friends,
These are difficult economic days for all of us. These are also difficult days for the Presbyterian Church, USA and for the Church of Jesus Christ all around the world. Presbyterian Elders in Prayer needs your help to continue calling people to their knees for our globe, nation, denomination, and local congregations. Second Chronicles 7:14 speaks clearly to us: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Even as we call our denomination and other parts of God’s kingdom to confession and repentance for His restoration, we are also aware of our own sins and our need to confess and repent; knowing that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3: 23). Even those who serve on our board and those who often contribute articles for the newsletter are imperfect, flawed people. We love Jesus…deeply. But we are not yet all that we are meant to become in His service. When we are corrected by the Holy Spirit, working through Holy Scripture, we confess and repent…trusting in the grace of Christ to continue that wondrous sanctifying work within us and among us.
As the one who is privileged to serve as PEP’s Executive Director, I want to assure you that your Board of Directors, contributors, and all parts of PEP’s ministry pray and labor to proclaim Biblical Christianity as upheld by our Book of Confessions. All prayers are to be prayed to God, through Jesus. We trust in the power of the Holy Spirit to prompt and guide our prayers. In Christ’s love and service,
